MVA Case Study

MiDDLEGROUND has a long history of working with MVA and their top leaders to shift the culture and leadership style within the organisation. MVA is now one of Namibia’s leading Parastatal organisations.

This relationship dates back to original work with Jerry Muadinohamba the ex CEO who attended the Strategic Leaders Programme delivered by MiDDLEGROUND for the British Council. Inspired by the programme, Jerry built his learning into the way he transformed MVA, and invested in his senior leaders by sending them to MiDDLEGROUND Module A leadership workshop in Kenya, London and hosting programmes in Namibia. The workshops supported the culture shift he created in MVA and the way the leadership is distributed and acknowledged in the organisation.

The new senior leadership team headed up by CEO Rosalia Martins-Hausiku extended the work further by sending her team to London to take part in Module B. MVA Namibia also took the lead in gathering its partner organisations across Southern Africa into a MiDDLEGROUND leadership workshop in Namibia to strengthen the leadership and foster co-learning and accountability across the wider network.

The participants mentioned that they were deeply inspired by the new tools, the opportunity to build new networks, and the creation of breakthrough initiatives to create and sustain unimagined results. They felt that this ‘Leadership Breakthroughs’ programme had enabled them to transform their results and impact as leaders in their organisations. They appreciated that the approach is powerful in inviting them to include their own beliefs and passions alongside those of others, while also embracing the real new challenges their organisations face economically, ecologically and socially.
